Intelligent Future, Green Growth: Jointly Exploring New RCEP Opportunities
On February 9, 2026, the Launching Ceremony of the ASEAN International Machinery Equipment & Technology Exhibition 2026 (referred as "AMTXP") under the theme "Intelligent Future • Green Growth" was held in Pingyang, Wenzhou.
Yu Xinchen, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wenzhou Committee, Zhang Junrong, Deputy County Governor of Pingyang County, relevant leaders from Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, as well as representatives from more than 100 enterprises in the fields of printing & packaging, food & pharmaceutical machinery and other industries attended the meeting to jointly draw up a blueprint for expanding the ASEAN market.
Building Consensus, Setting Clear Direction
Mr. Zhang Junrong, Deputy County Governor of Pingyang County, introduced that Pingyang’s industrial cluster of complete printing and packaging equipment has been selected as a national characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises, with an annual revenue exceeding 20 billion yuan and a complete industrial chain.
In the future, Pingyang will strive to push the output value of the entire printing and packaging equipment industrial chain to over 50 billion yuan, and aims to achieve a "double 100-billion" breakthrough in both regional GDP and the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size by 2030.
This exhibition is an important opportunity for Pingyang enterprises to expand into the ASEAN market and deepen international industrial capacity cooperation.
Mr. Zheng Jilin, Inspector Commissioner of Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, stated that the exhibition platform is crucial for enterprises to explore the international market and build international brands.
The Bureau will continue to optimize the policy support system and provide efficient and targeted services to help enterprises seize the opportunities created by the "government sets up the stage, enterprises perform" model, and build an international event with brand influence.
Mr. Yu Xinchen, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wenzhou Committee, emphasized in his speech that the ASEAN market boasts huge potential, with sustained growing demand in printing, packaging, food and pharmaceutical machinery and other sectors.
He noted that the Wenzhou Municipal Government has included this exhibition in the city’s list of overseas self-organized exhibitions, and it has also received strong support from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Investment of Thailand, as well as various industrial associations.
The exhibition will serve as a key platform for further advancing the Belt and Road Initiative and seizing the policy dividends brought by RCEP.
Insight into Trends, Seize Opportunities
Mr. Xiao Jian, General Manager of CartonAI, delivered a presentation on Investment Environment and Policies in Southeast Asian Countries on behalf of Sansin International Group.
He pointed out that RCEP will reduce tariff barriers and facilitate supply chain integration and technological exchange.
As a core market in ASEAN, Thailand has become a key destination for Chinese enterprises in printing, packaging, food and pharmaceutical machinery to expand exports, benefiting from the dual dividends of RCEP and the Eastern Economic Corridor, its pivotal role as a transit hub amid China-US frictions, and its stable political situation.
He suggested that enterprises should study RCEP rules, strengthen technological innovation and talent development, and deepen international cooperation.
Jointly Explore New Overseas Opportunities, Collaborate to Overcome Involution
Ms. Dong Yafei, Sales General Manager and Co-founder of Zhejiang Xinluolan Machinery Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech. She deeply analyzed the current situation and challenges facing the printing and packaging industry, and shared Newroland’s strategy of breaking through from "involution" to "overseas expansion".
Ms. Dong Yafei pointed out that the current printing and packaging industry is facing multiple predicaments, including fragmented enterprises, low operating rates, declining profits, and overcapacity. Specifically, despite the large market scale, the industry is extremely fragmented with a high proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Their operating rates are significantly lower than the industry average, and profit margins have been severely squeezed. For instance, the cost of some raw materials such as corrugated paper has risen by 17.65%, and labor costs have increased by 8.3%, resulting in nearly 30% of SMEs falling into losses. Meanwhile, the utilization rate of low-end production capacity has declined, and structural overcapacity has become a major pain point of the industry.
Faced with such a severe industry situation, Ms. Dong emphasized that overseas expansion has become an inevitable choice for enterprises to survive in the era of stock competition. She proposed that involution is cost competition, a zero-sum game of "grabbing existing shares"; while overseas expansion is value competition, a positive-sum game of "creating new growth".
Newluolan stated that it will cultivate a competitive edge that is difficult to replicate by deeply engaging in segmented fields, while actively embracing emerging markets such as ASEAN to seek its second growth curve.
Large-Scale Layout, Strong Foundation
Mr. Li Pige, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Donnor International Exhibition Co., Ltd., introduced the exhibition details and the current situation of the ASEAN market.
The exhibition will be held from September 2–4, 2026 at IMPACT Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, covering an exhibition area of 10,000 ㎡ with over 600 booths, and is expected to attract more than 10,000 professional buyers and industry visitors.
It is hosted by Wenzhou Municipal Government, supported by the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of International Trade Promotion of Thailand, and co-organized by Sanxin International Group, forming a strong endorsement pattern of "Government + Multinational Group".
A grand signing ceremony for leading enterprises was held at the event.
Ms. Sun Shujun, Project Manager of the AMTXP at Zhejiang Donnor International Exhibition Co., Ltd., held a solemn signing ceremony with four leading enterprises:Zhejiang Jinbao Machinery Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xinwei Machinery Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xinluolan Machinery Co., Ltd., and Aoer Printing & Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd.
